Richard’s work spans approximately 12 years – about the same amount of time that he has lived in Dursley.
Many of his works depict buildings that maybe familiar but are now a memory. In particular the factory that was at the heart of working life in Dursley, Lister-Petter. Before and during its demolition, Richard photographed and documented its sad demise. From these photos, he is drawing inspiration to create (what he hopes) are interesting conversational pieces of art.
The same goes for his other industrial landscapes. Capturing and documenting a moment in time – be it a lost building or a changing landscape with nature taking over these abandoned areas.
Richard is also interested in capturing the natural environment. Different seasons offering many varied aspects of the same scene. Always changing, never still.
