Description – A fast-growing tropical climber producing a wonderful display of 5cm (2in) blue flowers from mid to late summer. The ideal plant for climbing up an indoor obelisk and adding structure to the room.
Sowing – Sow seed on the surface of a free-draining, damp seed compost and cover with a layer of compost or vermiculite, 6mm (1/8in) deep. Place in a propagator or seal container in a polythene bag at a temperature of 19-28°C (66-82°F) until after germination which usually takes 7-14 days. Do not exclude light as this helps germination.
Growing – Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle into 9cm (4in) pots and position in a well-lit room. Once roots fill this pot, set into final container and provide climbing supports.
Flowers – July to September
