Half Hardy Annual
Description – T&M believe this is the fastest climbing Petunia available from seed. From T&M’s own breeding, this vigorous purple variety has richly fragrant blooms and will quickly climb through a frame support towering above everything else on the patio.
Sowing – Sow seed on the surface of good, free-draining, seed compost. Cover with a fine sprinkling of vermiculite. Place in a propagator, or seal container inside a polythene bag and place at a temperature of 20-25C (68-77F until after germination which takes 10-21 days. Do not exclude light, as this helps germination.
Growing – Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle into trays or 7.5cm (3in) pots. Gradually acclimatise plants to cooler conditions for a few weeks before planting out after all risk of frost into containers 15-30cm (6-12in) apart. As plants grow train each stem through the climbing frame supports. Feed regularly in containers and remove dead blooms as they fade to extend the flowering period.
Flowers – July to October
